Sula municipality has approximately 7.630 inhabitants and covers a area of 58,7 km2. On the coast of Central Norway, north-west of the islands Hitra and Frøya - with the Atlantic Ocean as it's nearest neighbour - lies the fishing village of Sula. Sula is every fisherman's great dream, and is the place for you if you want the genuine experience of a small, fishing-based society.
Sula, known as the musical township, with Ytre Suløen, Brazz Bros, and Annbjørg Lien to name but a few, also has a wealth of outdoor life and sports. Pay a visit to such places as Vasset Outdoor and Sports Park, with its hiking trails, floodlit trails, stadium, shooting area, fishing and horseriding facilities.
Visit Devold with its interesting museum, knitting factory outlet and cafeteria. It is located in Langevåg approximately 10 minutes by boat from the centre of Ålesund. FISHING
Fishermen from the entire region were drawn to the attractive fishing areas of Sula. Borgundfjorden known for Cod fishing and south of the island lies Storfjorden.
