Accommodation, Businesses and more pictures from Gjerstad

Gjerstad muncipality has approximately 2.500 inhabitants and covers a area of 322,1 km2. Like a blue ribbon runs the waterscourses and lakes through all of Gjerstad. Alongside them there are a wide range of well marked paths and trails, these are of course marked with blue markings. Gjerstad is really a valley, and at the end of the valley lies the reminds of an early industry, the Eikeland Ironworks.

The iron is also the reason why Gjerstad is famous for its beautiful handmade knifes. Today you can buy one at Holmen Gård, situated at the upper part of the valley. Holmen Gård is owned by the Norwegian Handicrafl Assosiation, and here there are held exibitions and courses during most of the year.
