Vestvågoy is the geographical centre of Lofoten.Lively fishing hamlets below steep mountains. White sandy beaches and glistening lakes for fishing. Vestvågøy is one of the most important fishing municipalities of Norway, and the second largest in northern Norway concerning agriculture.

The hamlet of Eggum, on the west side of the island. Houses have modestly averted their eyes by drawing curtains and huddle together under the mountain that protects them from the easterly winds.

A snug community, attractively situated at the foot of tall cliffs. Beautiful pebble beach; lookout for viewers of the Midnight Sun. "Borga", built in stone during WW II, was one of the first German radar stations in northern Europe. Good starting point for hikes.
