All fish oil sent to the EU must comply with strict hygiene rules laid down in Commission Regulation (EC) No 1020/2008, including that the oil used must be suitable for human consumption. GOED consists of the market´s leading manufacturers and suppliers of omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA, and sets a high ethical standard for its members. Vesterålen Nature Products guarantees that all products released on the market meet the applicable quality standards; GOOD, European Pharmacopeia, as well as regulatory requirements. Omega-3 fatty acids are recovered from the whole fish, not just the liver. Where does the oil come from?

The oil in our fish oil capsules is exclusively derived from fatty pelagic fish (anchovy and sardines) from the Pacific, more specifically off the coast of South America (Peru and Chile). Due to the low levels of pollutants, and a natural high content of omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA, these raw materials are very beneficial for the recovery of omega-3 oil. For the production of fish oil for human consumption, strict requirements are imposed on quality. There is used raw material fished by boats with refrigeration plants.
