Bærums Verk is located at the entrance to Lommedalen, not far from Sandvika. In industry historical setting back to the early 1600 figures, we currently around 55 shops, craftsmen, workshops, galleries and restaurants. Other important industries in the community included factories that produced iron nails, and a powder and cellulose factory at the Lysaker river (Lysakerelva).

Trade and commerce have always been of central importance to Bærums Verk´s history. This tradition continues today. In 1985, restoration began to revitalize the old buildings into a charming cultural and social centre. The second stage in this process accured in 1997 with the refurbishment of the old production locations: The foundry, the furnace and the iron stock. Today, Bærums Verk has become a unique shopping centre in historical surroundings. Apart from shops that offers necessities and services for the local community (such as health services, food, clothing and leasure activities), there are also speciality establishments in interior design. In the spring of 1998, "Handelsstedet Bærums Verk" received ICSC´s international prize for innovative thinking within the development of shoppingcentres. Price NOK 1,500 - for groups up to 40 people. By Car: From Oslo West, use only 20 minutes. Follow E16 from Sandvika towards Hønefoss. Turn right towards Bærums Verk second exit after Hamang tunnel (signposted). Follow the signs to Bærums Verk. We have 550 free parking spaces.

By bus: Bus 143: Oslo Bus Terminal - Frederiks gate - Bygdøy Alle - Lysaker - Stabekk - Bekkestua - Godthaab - Bærums Verk. (Triangle). Takes about 45 min. Oslo, 2 departures per hour. Bus 753: From Sandvika -Kolsås - Bærums Verk. Correspond with bus 151 from Oslo Bus Terminal to Sandvika.

 TELENOR ARENA

Telenor Arena, sometimes referred to as Fornebu Arena, is a multi-purpose indoor arena located at Fornebu. It serves as a venue for a variety of events, including concerts, exhibitions, action shows, family shows, TV and sport. It has a capacity for 15,000 spectators for sports and 23,000 for concerts, including 40 luxury boxes and club seating for 1,200. The venue has a fixed roof and an asphalt floor. Telenor Arena has hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 2010, as well as concerts.
