kleven

Kleven has been a strong brand name within the shipping industry for many decades, both for newbuildings and for service. From August 2012 Kleven Maritime will use Kleven as the name for the group. This will make it clearly and easily recognisable and will simplify communication in the market and in the local communities where we operate. Our yards will continue to be called Myklebust Verft and Kleven Verft.

At Myklebust Verft in Gursken we offer docking for most types of vessel including large advanced anchor-handlers and seismic vessels. After almost 100 years of operation Myklebust Verft has extensive experience in newbuildings, service, repairs and rebuilding. The fact that we carry out both service assignments and build new vessels gives us unique expertise from which our customers benefit. The yard is easily accessible for all types of vessel being located on the Sunnmøre coast just north of Stadt. We are based in the middle of a maritime cluster a short distance from large and important equipment suppliers and subcontractors.

Kleven is a family-owned company with deep roots in the local communities in which we are based. The companies in our group have a history that stretches back in time almost one hundred years. Our entire history has been characterised by a willingness to work hard and a wish to steadily improve working methods and our results. Now we are positioning ourselves in an active market characterised by tough competition by modernising our business at all levels. We are investing in new know-how, new facilities and new technology in order to ensure that our proud shipbuilding traditions will continue.

Even though a lot has changed during our history, our core values that Marius Kleven formulated in 1944 remain the same: "We will produce good work, and will be there to be relied upon."
