Aker Seafoods changed its name to Havfisk ASA in April 2013. This company is Norway´s largest trawler company with 11 vessels and 29.6 cod trawling licences.

The operations of Havfisk ASA are based on fish, which is a natural resource. Havfisk is a pure fishing company with 11 trawlers. The company primarily catches cod, haddock and saithe. All fish are headed and gutted onboard and the company is able to provide fresh and frozen fish throughout the year.

The largest owner of Havfisk ASA is Aker ASA, with a 73.25% ownership stake. The head office of Havfisk ASA is located in Ålesund, and it also has shipping offices in Stamsund and Hammerfest.

Nordland Havfiske AS consists of the former companies, Havfisk AS from Melbu and Lofoten Trålerrederi AS from Stamsund. These companies were merged in 2006 under the name of Nordland Havfiske AS. This fishing company currently owns and operates four trawlers, which include two freezer trawlers, one fresh fish trawler with freezer capacity and one fresh fish trawler. This company has 12 cod licences and 4 prawn licences Havfisk AS was bought out in 1996 by Norway Seafoods AS, now Aker Seafoods ASA.

Havfisk AS was set up in 1953 and was owned by Melbu Fiskeindustri from 1980 onwards. Lofoten Trålerrederi AS was set up in 1962 by several local industrial companies, the largest of which was Aker Seafoods J. M. Johansen AS, all the municipalities in Lofoten except Værøy and Rølst and several other major investors.

Finnmark Havfiske AS was set up in 2006 after Aker Seafoods acquired West Fish-Aarsæther AS. The numerous fishing companies involved in West Fish-Aarsæther AS, which operated a total of approx. 11 cod licences divided between several vessels, were merged in 2006. After comprehensive re-structuring, this company´s fleet currently consists of four trawlers, which include one freezer trawler, two fresh fish trawlers with freezer capacity and one fresh fish trawler.

Hammerfest Industrifiske AS owns and operates the trawlers "Rypefjord" and "Doggi" and has 6 cod licences. Both the company´s vessels are fresh fish trawlers with freezer capacity.
