The wildest and most beautiful branch of the Sognefjord. Fjord cruises in unique setting, with sheer, snow-topped mountains, waterfalls and idyllic farms clinging to the mountainsides. The Nærøyfjord is 17 km long and the narrowest point is only 250 metres wide. The passage through Nærøyfjord is one of the most dramatic fjord trips in Europe.

The narrow and spectacular Nærøyfjord is surrounded by steep valley sides and snow-covered peaks that rise 1,800 metres above sea level, with thundering waterfalls and picturesque villages along the fjord. This area has been judged one of the most beautiful fjord landscapes in the world and is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Nærøyfjord is undoubtedly the most celebrated fjord memory you can experience onboard the purpose-built hybrid vessel "Vision of the Fjords". Onboard you will get close to nature and you can indulge yourself in silence through the Nærøyfjord, as soon the captain switch over to electric propulsion. Let yourself be seduced by wild and beautiful scenery, just an arm´s length from steep mountains, in harmony with the sound of the waves.

The Gudvanga Tunnel is Norway´s second longest road tunnel (11,428 metres). The tunnel connects the village of Gudvangen, at the head of the Nærøyfjord, with the Undredalen valley and is part of European Route E16.

A passenger boat between Gudvangen - Aurland - Flåm is running all year. In winter 1x a day. Rest of the year: 3 - 5 x daily.

The car ferry between Gudvangen - Kaupanger - Lærdal is running from the 1st of May to the 30th of September. 1-4 x daily.

You´ll also see charterboats and large cruiseship coming and going in the fjord area.
