Jørn Lyseggen is a entrepreneur, patent inventor and the current CEO of Meltwater Group. He was born in Korea and his hometown is Trysil. Jørn Lyseggen is an avid reader of ancient history and viking story, Jørn likes to fish salmon in Namsen the Norwegian river near Grong. He played clarinet in orchestras and competed at various levels for more than 15 years. Recently he took up his interest in music with the purchase of a saxophone.
Jørn Lyseggen has a Bachelor´s degree in electrical engineering from Bergen University College in Norway, master in electrical engineering with specialization in digital signal processing and artificial intelligence from Iowa State University and training in entrepreneurship at Harvard Business School.
In 2001, only 15 000 USD, Jørn Lyseggen established Meltwater News, a B2B search engine for media company that provides business intelligence services, which has now become the Meltwater Group. As CEO, he led the expansion of Meltwater with new initiatives in the SaaS market (Software as a Service). Jørn Lyseggen also founded the nonprofit Foundation Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST), designed to provide training and guidance to young African entrepreneurs who aspire to launch new software company in Ghana.
