 Jens Dag Ulltveit-Moe

Umoe is a Norwegian investment company. Jens Ulltveit-Moe founded the company in 1984 and it has since grown into one of the largest, privately owned companies in Norway. The company invests in four main areas; Maritime services, Bioenergy, LNG tankers and Restaurants. Jens Ulltveit-Moe has been president of Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise. Ulltveit-Moe is CEO of Umoe, and was formerly Chairman of Petroleum Geo-Services.

Jens Ulltveit-Moe, Norwegian business leader, economist and MA degree in International Relations from the United States. Worked for McKinsey & Company in New York from 1968 to 1972. Director of Asterix Shipping in London 1972-80. Managing Director of the company Knutsen O.A.S. Shipping from 1980 to 1986, received the 1984 ownership of the company and founded Ulltveit-Moe-group, now Umoe AS. President of Norges Rederiforbund from 1990 to 1991 and the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) 2000-04.

The investment company Ulltveit-Moe Group, which has since been renamed Umoe. The company is today an industrial company with many different activities. Umoe Schat Harding (Harding Safety) was acquired in 1986. In 1991 he took control of Haugesund Mechanical Workshop that was developed to Umoe Oil and Gas and sold in 2000. In 2002 he stated Umoe ICT and Umoe Catering with Peppe´s Pizza, TGIF Fridays, Burger King, Starbucks and a series of airport restaurants and local cafes. Sønnico acquired in 2003. In 2008 he sold the tanker fleet Knutsen OAS to invest in renewable energy. Umoe Bioenergy grower now 300,000 acres of sugar cane in Brazil for the production of bioethanol annually. Umoe Solar is developing a facility for polysilicon in Miramichi, Canada. In May 2010, the project was postponed indefinitely.
