A wide river enters the town from the east after meandering through the fertile lower valley, Stryn Valley, from the charming Stryn Lake. At the shore of the lake the Jostedalsbreen National Park Centre is situated.

Briksdalen waterfall On your way through the Oldedalen valley to the Briksdalsbreen glacier, you will see a host of wild and wonderful waterfalls cascading down the mountainsides. Gytrifossen, Nelkjifossen, Yrifossen, Kvamsfossen, Rustøyfossen, Høgalmefossen, Volefossen, Svadåna, Briksdalsfossen and Kjøtabreelva.

Visitors from all over the world come to see the beautiful Briksdals glacier outlet, so beautifully situated amid waterfalls and high peaks. From the mountain inn, you can either walk or take a horse and carriage up to Briksdal glacier.
